I happened to catch this guy pop out of the clouds yesterday evening moments before sunset! There were a lot of moving parts to this image but in the end it all came together nicely.Running out of my house, I forgot my tripod so finding a spot to shoot from where I could rest my camera was a must - the Portsmouth Harbor Cruise railing did just fine. Then after cycling through a few different lenses, I realized that my wide angle in the portrait orientation was the only way I was going to capture the entire scene as I had envisioned it.The downside to a wide angle is that everything tends to be "pushed out" further than you would normally see with your eyes, so some of the finer details out on the horizon get a little lost. If you look closely though, you can see the Thomas Leighton at the base of the rainbow returning to the harbor after it's evening cruise up the Piscataqua.
